This range extender diesel engine lifts on to the Haulotte HS18 E scissor lift turning the elictric scissor in to a hybrid scissor lift that can be 'First In, Last Out' on construction sites.

Nappies

Protect floors from potential oil and hydraulic drips when operating powered access platforms with the use of a Nappy or Drip Diaper. These are available to buy and can be delivered direct to site with your hired powered access platform (MEWP). These are available for all Scissor and boom machines.

Powered access platform nappies can be supplied for a specific model of machine or can be supplied as a standard size.
Nappies are made from durable PVC which can be washed down after use and re-used again.

Outrigger Pads

The area of the foot attached to an outrigger of a MEWP is often relatively small and consequently generates high pressures directly on the ground.

Most soils, unmade ground and some paved and tarmac covered areas are not capable of supporting these pressures. Some form of foundation or suitable spreader pad is often necessary to reduce these pressures to an acceptable safe level.

Transformers and Leads

All electric powered access platforms require charging each night in order to get a full day’s work out of them. These 110v transformers are ideal for bringing the voltage down from 240v to 110v allowing the charger unit to be plugged into a standard power source.

Transformers are available in 3.3kVA or 5kVA. Transformer selection depends on the kVA rating required to perform battery charging. 5kva is suitable for large machines. If you are unsure, please contact our head office hire desk team by 01527 871123 for further assistance.

Wheel Covers

Wheel covers are ideal for both indoor and outdoor use when you need to protect a finished floor surface from unsightly black marks caused by the tyres of a machine. These wheel covers are supplied as a set of 4 and come in various sizes to suit individual machines. These can be purchased and supplied with your hire machine and are particularly useful when non-marking tyres are not an option. Wheel covers are simple to fit and can be reused multiple times.

GUIDANCE ON THE ASSESSMENT OF GROUND CONDITIONS

WHY A GROUND ASSESSMENT IS SO IMPORTANT

All MEWPs rely on the condition of the ground on which they stand for their stability. This applies equally to those which require the use of jacks or outriggers and those which operate free on wheels. Poor ground may well settle when subjected to the loads of MEWP wheels or outriggers and this in turn will result in the machine being out of level and becoming unstable. Consequently it is essential that an assessment of ground conditions is made before travelling, using or setting up a MEWP on any surface.

NOT JUST FOR OUTRIGGERS

Ground conditions are often only considered for MEWPs that require setting up on outriggers before use. Assessment of ground condition is however, equally important for self propelled MEWPs, such as booms and scissor lifts, which may be driven along the ground with the platform raised. Moving from hard ground to soft may well cause the machine to go out of level and overturn.

THE USE OF GROUND PADS

Ground conditions should also be considered when moving stowed MEWPs, as soft ground conditions may result in the machine becoming bogged down with consequent recovery costs, delays and loss of production. The use of ground guards can alleviate the problems of soft ground.

CONTINUOUS CHECKING

During use it is important that operators use the level indicators provided on platforms and take notice of any warnings provided. If the level indicator indicates that the operating limits are exceeded the operator should lower and then reset the machine in a level position. If it is suspected that the outriggers could sink for any reason, regular checks should be made on machine level and adjustments made to outriggers, spreaders, mats etc.
