TECHNICAL APPRENTICESHIPS

Learn practical skills with classroom studies, preparing you for a future career with one of the UK’s leading Powered Access rental companies.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will work with highly skilled service engineers, receive personal development and gain industry recognised qualifications to NVQ Level 2 or Level 2 Diploma on a CITB ‘Inspecting Construction Plant or Machinery Maintenance’ course.

ADMINISTRATION APPRENTICESHIPS

Learn practical skills with classroom studies, preparing you for a future career with one of the UK’s leading Powered Access rental companies.

Working within Hire, Accounts or Marketing departments you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification. Opportunities are available to move within the organisation on successful completion of your apprenticeship.

We have a dedicated training team, who, along with our partnership colleges, will provide specialist skills training, tailor-made for our apprentices. Our experienced training advisors support you throughout your apprenticeship, and are committed to helping you achieve your full potential.

Many of our apprentices go on to join our team and build long-term careers with GTAccess. Depending on your performance as an apprentice, at the end of your training we hope to offer you a position at one of our sites.

Tony started at GTAccess as an apprentice at 17 years of age, 23 years later he is now the National Service Manager.

Tony Jones started with the company aged 17. A four year Plant Mechanics Apprenticeship earned him a valuable specialist qualification and skills base. Ten week learning blocks at college were followed by full time employment at GTAccess. Over the years Tony has progressed and grown with the company and is now the National Service Manager responsible for the smooth running of the engineering departments across the whole of the business including responsibility for all the engineering apprentices.

Tony said, “As a 17 year old, I was certainly not prepared for the work of work. My apprenticeship was a brilliant way to learn my trade and really built my confidence. I now see the new lads and girls coming through and it’s great to see them growing like I did. I would say to anyone who is unsure about where their career path lies, to go for an apprenticeship as it can lead to completely new and unknown opportunities. “

Say hello to Brandon our rising star in Accounts

Brandon Burrows joined GTAccess as a Business Administration Apprentice in 2015. After completing his one-year apprenticeship Brandon realised that his heart and his future actually lay in accounting. Not wanting to loose such a talented and valued employee we looked to create a space for him within our small accounts team. This space enabled Brandon to start another apprenticeship this time as an accounting technician at level two which he passed with merit.

Brandon said “I am lucky to have found a company that is supporting me to go further. Once I have my Level 2, I hope to do the AAT Level 3 Diploma which will mean that I am qualified for a junior accounting role.”

In 2018 Brandon was named one of the Hereford & Worcester Chamber of Commerce’s ‘5 under 35' to watch.

Jodie is a Business Administration Apprentice and works within the busy hire office at our depot in Shrewsbury.

While still at school Jodie decided that she wanted to pursue a career within an office based environment and really liked the idea of gaining real life experiences while being paid to do so. A business Administration apprenticeship with GTAccess seemed to tick all the right boxes. Jodie goes to college 1 day a week as part of her ongoing apprenticeship and is covering a diverse and wide range of topics. During a typical day her duties are wide ranging, consisting of; General administration, Entering customer contracts, answering and making calls, handling customers’ requests and enquires, taking orders and quoting customers, Reporting stock levels, breakdowns and helping with transport planning and occasionaly she has to make the tea.

Jodie commented "I really enjoy how everyone works together as a team, I get the chance to learn about the machines and experience how they work. Everyone at GTAccess has been so kind and helpful with my apprenticeship. It’s a great company to work for. I'm looking forward to learning more, experiencing more and being able to contribute more as I gain more knowledge and experience"
