What are diesel boom lifts?
A diesel boom lift is a perfect machine for reaching heights that are difficult to access. It consists of a contained platform or bucket at the end of a hydraulic arm or boom, which can be extended or retracted to reach different heights and positions. These machines typically have a higher lifting capacity than their electric or battery-powered counterparts, which makes them ideal for outdoor construction sites or industrial applications that require heavy lifting or working at great heights. Examples include tall buildings and bridges.
Able to operate consistently throughout the day without needing to be refuelled, our diesel boom lifts are the most robust self-propelled boom lifts available for hire. Many of them are able to retract for storage, making transportation to a site on a truck easy to achieve.
We even offer IPAF Training courses for all of our machines
All clients who hire our diesel boom lifts are able to take advantage of IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) training for their operatives from GTAccess’ nationwide depots. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) recommend training for all employees who operate powered access platforms and employers have a duty of care to ensure that employees are appropriately trained to operate any equipment they use at work.
The training must cover the safe use of the machinery and any hazards associated with it, as well as any necessary emergency procedures. For the health and safety of their company and employees, most employers require all operators of mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) to receive IPAF PAF (Powered Access License) certification prior to working on site, and GTAccess is happy to be able to supply all the necessary training.
