Long time employee of GTAccess and industry veteran Tom Long has now taken on a new role at the company as General Manager.

This is a new strategic role for GTAccess and will see Tom taking on responsibility for the operational running of the 6 GTAccess depots. Tom will be based at their head office in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire but will also be a regular visitor at all the GTAccess depots across the Midlands and South Wales.

Tom started working in the access industry over 30 years ago with spells at Access Rentals, Hewden and Aerial Platforms before joining GTAccess in 2006. Tom has played an instrumental part in moving GTAccess from being a small localised company to becoming one of the largest independent powered access companies in the UK.

Jonathan Till, Managing Director at GTAccess said “Tom is both well respected and well known within the access industry and has over 30 years of experience with the last 12 at GTAccess. The wealth of knowledge he will bring to this new role will enable us to successfully implement our strategic long term growth plans.”

GTAccess have a fleet of nearly 1600 powered access platforms run from depots in Bridgend, Bromsgrove, Gloucester, Hereford, Shrewsbury and the recently moved depot in Stoke. In fact Tom’s first priority will be to finish the migration of the Stoke depot to its new home just a few miles away from its old location. The much larger site will allow Stoke to meet the increased demand for powered access equipment across the region.

Tom commented “This move is an exciting new chapter for GTAccess and will allow us to provide an even better service for our customers throughout the area. Our new Training facilities will enable us to run  even more IPAF and First Aid courses as well as allowing us to offer PASMA courses in Stoke for the first time.”
