IPAF OPERATOR TRAINING: CLASSROOM

The course enables trainees to become competent to drive MEWPs safely and in the correct manner.

An IPAF PAL card is recognised by the HSE, CITB, HAE and the Major Contractors Group (MCG). It also satisfies the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and the PUWER regulations 1998.

Our IPAF Operator courses instruct how to prepare and safely use various types of access platforms, including scissor and boom lifts. You will be trained in the correct operation of the equipment, how to carry out a pre-inspection, emergency descent operations as well as being given an understanding of employers and employees responsibilities.

E-LEARNING OPTION

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Anyone who operates a mobile elevating work platform requires a PAL card and this must be renewed every 5 years. Over 90,000 MEWP operators are trained every year worldwide through IPAF’s network of approved training centres, of which GTAccess is one.

CITB GRANT FUNDING
This course qualifies for Tier 2 CITB Grant funding of £140.
GTAccess is a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and as such our customers are able to claim grants when completing certain courses. CERTIFICATION
The Powered Access License card (PAL), that is given upon passing the course, is recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Major Contractors Group (MCG) and is valid for 5 years. 

The course is recognised by CITB and HAE and satisfies the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).

REQUIREMENTS
Delegates should be physically fit and able to bring along safety shoes, hard hat and gloves for the practical part of the training. A full body safety harness with adjustable restraint lanyard and proof of inspection within the last 12 months must be brought with the delegate on the day of training for 1b and 3b categories. These are available for purchase from GTAccess.

REFRESHMENTS
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day on all courses at all of our training centres.  Please note that lunch is not provided.

CANCELATION POLICY
Courses cancelled less than 7 days prior to the course date but exceeding 48 working hours will incur a 50% charge. Courses cancelled less than 48 working hours before the course date will incur full payment. GT Access Ltd, reserves the right to cancel a training course at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. Should a course be cancelled alternative dates will be offered or a full refund given.

With over 30 years of experience with access equipment, we are able to offer a huge range of accredited IPAF, PASMA, and Workplace Health & Safety related training courses. We have 12 accredited training centres covering the West Midlands and south Wales.





IPAF Training

We offer a full range of IPAF courses including, Operator training, Harness Safety training, MEWP's for Managers and IPAF Demonstrator and Load/Unload. Our IPAF Operator courses are run 5 days a week (including some weekends) across all 12 of our training centres. Trainees will be issued with a PAL card upon completion that is valid for 5 years.

We run a full range of PASMA courses including a half day Working at Height Essentials course which enables individuals to comply with their duties under the work at Height Regulations 2005. A half day Low Level Towers course and a full day Towers for Users course that instructs how to safely assemble, dismantle, move and alter a mobile access tower.
